Normally, I do agree that B has every reason to feel like she's that bitch. But when she steps out looking like this, it's more like CRAZY ass bitch.

Let's start with the most painful part of the outfit: Those high-waisted metallic blue pants. They make the singer appear a lot wider and heavier than she really is, which is unfortunate, especially considering the fact that her body has been on ridiculous status lately.

I hate that she matched her blouse and eye shadow to her hot pants. Silver accessories complete the very tacky look. I also don't like her mermaid weave.

That's right, Jay. Just look down!

Chain Me Up!

These shackled heels are so beautifully badass--I can't look away! They're just another version of the caged shoe trend, which I love. Of course, I want a pair! The chained heels above are courtesy of Rodarte, Hervé Léger and Christian Siriano, but I'm waiting on my favorite affordable shoe brand Bakers to come out with a knock off.

Beyonce is Killing Me With Her Shoe Game!

Beyonce is scoring points for a look I think she's murdering right now--casual on top, couture on the bottom (as in her feet). The singer walked the streets of Vienna, Austria yesterday in a sheer white tank with matching Valentino purse, ripped light wash J Brands, trilby hat and the Yves Saint Laurent cage boots that I have a mad crush on. (Btw, I'm lovin' her relaxed curly 'fro--it goes perfect with her chill ensemble.)


I got my knock off Bakers pair this past weekend--but in black. Seeing B rock these aluminum ones makes me worried. Should I have gotten the shoes in silver?

I got black because--like all girls would normally think--it goes with everything. But silver is now starting to seem more neutral, especially with B's light ensemble.

Ah well...

If you recall, I applauded B for limiting the couture to her shoes because the runway wear was NOT working for this 'round the way girl. First Louis Vuitton's Spicy sandals and now YSL's cage boots. I cannot wait to see which kicks home girl will be rocking next.

A Rumorous Night

Last night, I left the office to cover The LG "Rumorous Night" Launch Party Hosted By Heidi Klum. As you can probably tell by the blurriness of Heidi's killer Giuseppe Zanotti crystal-encrusted heels, the hostess with the mostest flew right past the little people on the red carpet.

That's okay, I've already spoken to the supermodel at length. (Check out the piece here.) I love her short haircut. Super cute!

Other celebs who refused interviews: Christina Aguilera, Brittany Snow, Mila Jovovich, Anna Faris, Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens.

So, who did talk? Rosario Dawson, who by the way is way more important than the aforementioned peeps put together--okay, minus x-tina.

It's always nice seeing Rosario. She's such a cool chick. She gave me an exclusive interview a while back--definitely one of my big "gets."

Here she is marveling at my huge mint green flower cocktail ring. I was taking her picture and she was just in love with it! Dancing With the Stars' Lacey Schwimmer was wearing my exact ring in another color. How wild is that? Mine was a lot prettier though.

The actress was there to support her boyfriend Mathieu Schreyer aka DJ Mr. French, who was spinning records that night. Speaking of boyfriends... Jennifer Love Hewitt sure picked a real winner this time didn't she? Love arrived with none other than Jamie Kennedy, shown here flipping off my camera. How mature of the douche bag! He's totally in the same bottom tier as Doug Reinhart. Anyway...

Love was surprisingly not as chatty on the red carpet as I imagined her to be. She looked incredible in her forest green Dolce & Gabbana dress, which she paired with chocolate brown Gucci shoes. Her waist was teeny tiny...her boobs were ginormous as usual. But all she could say about her dress was that it was "comfortable." Whatever, I'll work with it.

In Style With Rachel Bilson!

Rachel Bilson is definitely one of my celebrity style crushes. The striking brunette can go from boho chic to androgynous to cutesy to sex kitten in the blink of an eye--and no one will question her. Remind you of a certain good girl gone bad singer?

In one of the biggest "get" in fashion editorial history, In Style magazine has snatched up the impeccable stylista, who will pen a monthly Q&A called Ask Rachel for the glossy starting with next month's issue. The column will have her answering readers’ style questions and dishing her favorite trends.

"I'm actually flattered more than anything that people want to ask me questions about style. I am honored to do it,” said the humble icon, whose highly-anticipated first column reveals that one of her spring faves are Matta scarves with pompom edges because they have "a cool alternative to fringe." I cannot wait to get more fascinating glimpses like that into her fashionably acute mind.

When I interviewed the star at the Los Angeles D&G boutique opening, I witnessed firsthand how down-to-earth, sweet and very approachable she was. After a rushed interview on the red carpet, I hustled my way inside and she was more than willing to answer my questions. Check out the story here.

'Bout That Time To Big Up B

First things first...Doesn't it seem only right that "Young, B cruisin' down the westside high-way" should start playing right about now? lol...

After all the B bashing I've been doing lately, I'm happy to big up the pop star for this urban chic ensemble.

While shopping for some shades on the streets of New York yesterday, the singer wore a cute checkered olive and gold shirt dress, rust red knit beret and African-inspired Louis V sandals. Such rich, warm, colors!

The outfit lent credence to my theory that 'round the way girl--not couture queen à la Rihanna--is a look more becoming of the bootylicious beauty.

Rih Rih Ups B for the Umpteenth Time!

The victor is clear: Rihanna wins this military jacket battle! Rih Rih rocked a denim Balmain soldier chic number, similar to the black, crystal-embellished one Beyonce wore a few days ago, while doing some shopping Thursday in L.A.'s BAPE store. The high fashion queen effortlessly paired hers with easy, breezy white shorts, sheer top and layered necklaces.

While she can wear practically anything and make it work, the Barbados babe opted for a much more wearable version. That's code for: I want it! Anyone want to lend me $11,000?

Lock Me Up!

I have been hurting for caged heels for a hot minute now. The trend is not exactly what you would expect during spring, but if loving these babies is wrong, then--by all means--lock me up! The look is bold, fierce and nothing to eff with!

Today, I tried on an amazing pair. They went perfectly with my neon orange pedi. Best of all, they were incredibly comfortable--probably 'cause they're essentially built like an ankle boot and held my foot in place.

I wanted them sooo bad. But between paying to get all four of my wisdom teeth taken out and a sample sale I went to recently (not to mention my meh salary), I made the wise decision to resist buying them...until pay day. I'll get my Rih Rih on soon enough ; )

I Heart JC Penney

Out of all the department stores, I heart JC Penney the most. Its inventory isn't as expensive as the stuff at Macy's and isn't as shitty as what they have over at Mervyns. Plus, it carries affordable versions of lines by Nicole Miller, Allen Schwartz and, now, Charlotte Ronson.

Like most people I'm sure, I got wind of the British designer's I Heart Ronson for JC Penney collection after the tabloids reported the drama surrounding the launch party. Lindsay Lohan, ex of Samantha Ronson (Charlotte's twin sister), was relentlessly kept out (which led to LiLo's hilarious eHarmony profile video).

Back to the clothes! As I walked through JC Penney today, there it was. Leave it to JC Penney to make a great first impression with a sale! That's the best way to turn me onto a new line : ) Plus, I didn't mind owning a piece by someone whose hip following included girls like Nicole Richie, Rashida Jones and Nicky Hilton. Though I saw a few cute layering pieces, some things looked like borderline scrubs. But then I saw this...

...a tiered ruffle floral skirt. It's sooooo adorable! I had actually been looking for something like it ever since I saw my friend wearing a dress with a similar style print / skirt. This is much more versatile as I can switch up the look with whatever top I pair it with. And at 40% off...heck yeah!

Beyonce: A Fashion Casualty

While out to dinner with her hubby Hova in NYC, the beautiful Beyonce dared to wear this heavily decorated military jacket from my fave edgy fashion house Balmain--but I wasn't about to salute the girl!

Though the singer had enough sense to keep the rest of her look simple, the jacket was just way too costumey--only her style superior Rihanna could pull it off. Plus, her soldier Jay didn't even want to be photographed standing next to her. Lol!


From the sharp details to the structured silhouette, throwing on a military-inspired piece is a great way to get attention. Check out Jennifer Aniston and Victoria Beckham to see what a fashion five-star general is supposed to look like.

I Am Officially Over the Barkers!

I know I've rooted for these two time and time again, but I'm so effing over it! Us Weekly recently broke that Shana and Travis have broken up AGAIN--and I'm hoping it's for good.

I don't want to get into it, but I really don't believe that Shana was the one who cheated. With that said, Travis has pulled a Ryan Phillipe in my book and I'm done being the eternally optimistic Charlotte York in this cast of characters.

Shana told MySpace Celebrity:

"After arriving in LA and getting settled in the new hospital, I came across numerous romantic emails with MANY other woman, some famous, some I personally knew, all heart breaking and the woman involved you know who you are and should be ashamed of yourself."

She adds...

" 'No Comment' just wasn't sufficient this time when people continue to lie and distort the truth. I am a human being and the bashing has taken it's toll."

I wish the best for the both of them--just not as a couple.

You Can't Turn a Ho into a Housewife--Or Can You?

Our least favorite ex-DK member, Aubrey O'Day, has been toning down her skankalicious look lately. First, she turned up at the Bravo Awards in a peach Chloé creation, which she pretty much ruined, according to let's see....everyone. Then, this pic to the right pops up on the Internet of her looking stepford wife crazy in a pink waterprint blouse. Something smells rotten in Auburella Land!

Well, hell, if her buddy Kim Kardashian can do it...Thing is, Kim is an extremely gorgeous girl who just happened to have a bangin' bod. I don't believe she had aspirations to be the poster girl for women who--in my best Jamie Foxx impression--are not necessarily hoes, but definitely HOE-ISH like miss thing did.

Kim didn't go out and get Paris Hilton's wonky eyes, Jenna Jameson's porn star boobs, Lindsay Lohan's gross orange complexion, Lil' Kim's wannabe Michael Jackson nose, I can go on...Talk about ambitious!

Alas in Alice + Olivia Land

I had the pleasure of previewing trendy Alice + Olivia's new collection at a swanky Beverly Hills home yesterday with my lovely intern Lizzy. While snacking on mini Crumbs cupcakes and sipping some bubbly, we went through racks and racks of beautiful pieces with bejeweled necklines, edgy zipper detailing and structured silhouettes with pops of funky, colorful designs mixed in.

Here are some highlights...


I LOVE this ruffled vest. It's absolutely adorable! This would be my go-to comfy, chic piece.

I was practically drooling over this one. The textured, woven purple shift with floral hem is to die for! A publicist at the showcase said they had recently shot the dress on a model with a silk purple tie-neck long-sleeve blouse underneath and white tights. How fucking inspired!


Lizzy really liked this one a lot. The zippers, ruffled rhinestone effect and patches of sheer fabric gave the LBD an edgy vibe.

This zebra jacket with black rhinestone-encrusted lapels is fabulous, dahling!!!

The floral skirt on this dress is cu-Ute! Plus, I like it with the red belt.


So rocker glam. I could totally see this on Nicky Hilton. I'd rock it with black leggings and some platforms--fine, flats--in a heartbeat!

This is another one Lizzy really liked. It's definitely a statement piece. I can see it dressed down with jeans and a blazer.

My reaction to this cowl neck dress with feathered hem for toddlers? O-M-F-G!!! This is sooo cute! It made me want my own baby girl to dress up! I believe this was $90...The adorability factor overshadowed the price tag for me--an effing first!

The grown up version was $135. It was fashioned into skirt as you can see, which I actually like better because you can mix and match.

When I commented to Lizzy that this would look awesome on baby Harlow, she fired back with, "No, I can see on Suri." Homegirl was right! Snaps for the kids!

The Maddens @ The Americana

Despite the fact that X17 neglected to state the location of this adorable pic, it was indeed taken at The Americana at Brand, i.e. Glendale, California. (That's where I be!) Nicole Richie, Joel Madden and their cutie pie Harlow were seen hanging out by the beautiful establishment's lovely fountain, which has amazing water displays throughout the day. My boyfriend and I love to stop and watch. (Btw, there's also open grass and a playground for the lil ones to play in.)

The Americana is damn near my Disney World away from Disney World. When I met up with the Maddens at the grand opening of the Dolce & Gabbana boutique opening in Los Angeles late last year, I couldn't help but ask the former Glendale residents if they've ever been! Joel answered, "Yes, it has a great theater!"

It has more than that, my friend, way more. My personal faves: Katsuya (best sushi ever!), Pinkberry (best yogurt ever!) , XXI Forever (best affordable trendy clothes ever!), Paperchase (best random, quirky inventory ever!), Papa Beard's (best cream puffs/mango berry smoothie ever!) and Crumbs (almost best cupcakes ever!)

If I could afford to have a place there (yes, you can live there, too!), I probably would. But we don't live in a perfect world, so instead I make regular trips to that bubble called The Americana where everything is happy. I'm going there tonight!!!

Kim and Reggie Get Their Grown and Sexy On!

How cute does Kim Kardashian look on top of Reggie Bush? She's lovin' this for sure!!! The typically reserved Reggie shot this spread with his girl for the newest issue of GQ magazine. Here's hoping the couple gets more and more comfortable in front of the camera behind closed doors. I kid, I kid!

The Carters Come Out for Ri Ri

So this is why Rihanna traveled to NY minus Chris Brown...because she was off to The Spotted Pig to celebrate her belated 21st birthday with her mentor Jay Z--of course, his wife B wasn't too far behind. Jigga man would've had a fit if that punk was there.

The shy couple exited through the back door, while Ri Ri (and Brandy) exited through the front. I'm so happy to see that Jigga man and his girl were there to support the Disturbia singer during this tough time.

I hope they were able to show her what real love is all about...

Side Note: This is precisely what I'm talking about! Whereas Beyonce tries to perpetrate in videos and on the red carpet that she's all about the high fashion, Rihanna proves time and time again that she lives, breathes and eats it. She's the only bad chick who can carry off catwalk looks on the sidewalk.

Breaking News: Brandy and Ri Ri are Friends!!!

This is just too good, that I'm going to break it up into two posts. What better way to start my day than with the knowledge that--wait for it--Brandy and Rihanna are friends, y'all!!! Brandy was one of only three celeb friends to be invited to Ri Ri's exclusive belated birthday dinner last night at The Spotted Pig in New York.


I'm soooooooo happy to see the girls, especially Rihanna, with big smiles on their faces. I wonder where they were off to...but the fact they're riding together makes me beyond thrilled ; )
